This week for my folksy friday I have decided to feature top handcrafted homewares. A pretty laptop cover from Toggle - make those laptop days less boring, a delightful little blossom cushion from Emma Jane Designs to adorn your glam boudoirs ladies, a stunning photo from Bear Graphics that reminds me of summer holidays in Cornwall and a cheeky little ceramic animal creature from Wiktorski Ceramics - every home should have one!

I am currently working on setting a beautiful dark faceted stone with a pointed back. Below are some pictures of the stone, work in progress and the setting that I hand cut and shaped out of silver wire to act as a claw and hold the stone in place. This wasn't an easy process but this type of setting really allows the light to hit each cut of the stone, creating a stunning sparkle. Initially I was thinking towards mounting it onto a ring base, but as it is quite a large stone (approx 1cm x 1cxm) I'm now leaning towards mounting it onto a piece of silver wire to create an attractive pendant.

Hello, my name is Trudy and here is an insight into what goes on at Handmade By Trudy. So far I am in the process of setting up my facebook page , my online folksy shop and of course this blog. So bare with me it's going to be a long process and hopefully i'll make some jewellery on the way. Made a beautiful abalone bangle this week that just needs polishing up will post pics soon when its done.
